For yourself

A few minutes a day, on your own terms.

Whenever you like, look back through a handful of photos from your life, hear a small question about each, and record what comes back. Then a few short games. Then you go on with your day.

For a parent or grandparent

Set it up once. Share what they share.

Gift the app, help them onboard once, and stay close through the memories they choose to share. No dashboard. No surveillance. Just the stories.

How it works

Two things,
every day.

01  ·  Reminisce

Relive the story.

A collection of photos from the family album, with prompts that invite the story behind each one. Pick it up whenever the moment feels right, and remember together in your own words.

02  ·  Games

Relax and have fun.

Short rounds of word puzzles, picture pairs, and light memory games. Each one under ninety seconds. No scores, no leaderboards. Just a few minutes that feel good.

Our story

For my grandmother,
then for everyone.

Sollund started as an idea to help my grandmother reminisce, using all of the great photos that we had as a family. She has been living with dementia for the last seven years, and watching her light up at an old photograph is what set this whole thing in motion.

I built a small proof of concept for a Google Hack-a-thon, and that launched us down the path of making technology to improve the quality of life for those living with memory concerns.

FAQ

Questions we're
asked most often.

People living with dementia or memory loss, and the family members and caregivers who care for them. It's a shared moment of connection: a handful of familiar photos and the stories behind them, a few relaxed games, something to enjoy together that doesn't demand too much. Caregivers often set it up and stay close through the memories that come out of it.

Not at all. The app is built with older adults and memory loss in mind, so the text is large, the contrast is strong, and the screen stays simple. We've worked to make the whole experience as easy and welcoming as possible.

No. Sollund is an entertainment app, not a medical diagnostic, treatment, or therapy. It's meant to bring moments of joy and connection to people with dementia and the people who love them, alongside, never in place of, your physician's guidance.
