Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
Sollund is a companion app for adults living with dementia. Because of that, most of what the app holds about a person can say something about their health. This policy explains what that data is, why we collect it, who it goes to, and how to use your rights over it. Effective September 28, 2026.
1. The health data we collect and why
- Account and profile details (name, birthday, and whether a caregiver set up the account and their relationship to the person). Using Sollund can itself suggest memory loss. We use these to run the account.
- Conversations with the app's AI companion: the live audio, and, only if you agree to keep a record, the written transcript and a short summary. What people say can include illness, pain or medication. We use the audio to hold the conversation and the transcript to show progress over time.
- Game results (scores and accuracy), saved only if you agree to keep a record. We use them for the Activity Report.
- Photos and captions you add, which the companion talks about with you.
- A voice recording and the AI voice made from it, only if you set one up. We use it so the companion speaks in that voice.
- Caregiver alert records: the time, the reason (the person was upset, asked for their caregiver, or mentioned a safety concern), and whether the text was delivered. We use them to avoid sending repeat texts and to show what was sent.
- Your consent choices, so we can show what you agreed to and when.
We use this data only to provide the Sollund app to you. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not combine it with other people's data or use it to train AI models.
2. Where it comes from
- From you, or from the caregiver who set up the account for you.
- From using the app: conversations and games.
- Conversation summaries, which our voice AI provider writes from the transcript.
3. Who we share it with
Caregiver alerts. If you turn on caregiver alerts, we text the one caregiver phone number you give us when the person may need a check-in. The text says only that someone they care for may need a check-in; nothing from the conversation is included. Turning alerts on is its own choice, separate from any other, and you can turn them off in the app or by replying STOP.
We do not share consumer health data with anyone else, we have no affiliates, and we do not sell it. No third party collects your health data across other websites or apps through Sollund.
Service providers process data for us under contract, only on our instructions and never for their own purposes: Google Cloud (hosting, database, storage and sign-in), ElevenLabs (voice conversations and the AI voice), LiveKit (live audio) and Twilio (sending caregiver texts).
4. How we process it
We store it encrypted on Google Cloud in the United States. ElevenLabs runs conversations in zero retention mode, so it keeps no audio or transcript after the conversation. How long we keep each kind of data is listed in our Privacy Policy under "How long do we keep specific information?".
5. Your rights and how to use them
- See your data. Tap "Download my data" on the Profile tab for a copy of everything we hold about you, or email us.
- Change it. Edit your profile details in the app. Conversations and game results are a record of what happened, so we do not edit them, but you can delete them.
- Delete it. Delete your account from the Profile tab, or ask at sollundhealth.com/delete-account. Delete your AI voice any time from Profile or the caregiver portal.
- Withdraw consent. Turn off "Keep a record of my progress" on the Profile tab and we stop saving game results and conversations, and delete the ones already saved.
- Ask who we shared it with. Email us and we will send the list, with a way to contact each one.
To make a request by email, write to support@sollundhealth.com from the address you sign in with. We complete requests within 30 days. After an account is deleted, its data can stay in our encrypted backups for up to 30 days.
Appeals. If we turn down a request, you can appeal by emailing support@sollundhealth.com with "Appeal" in the subject. We will answer in writing within 45 days. If we deny the appeal, you can complain to your state attorney general; in Washington, at atg.wa.gov/file-complaint.
6. Changes to this policy
We change the date at the top when we update this page. Before we collect, use or share health data in a way this page does not describe, we will ask for your consent in the app.
